♥ biba girls ♥

In some way or another, I am always thinking about Biba Girls. I am always drawing them and whenever I have a pencil or pen in my hands, they always flow out of my hands with such ease. Big-eyed, long-lashed with that lovely round face, a tiny nose and a rosebud mouth.

I've always been in love with these girls. Those curls! the melancholy in their eyes!
such darling melodramatic romantics!

♥ girl becomes rose (part 2) ♥

girl becomes rose
unfolding petals of tender skin
and delicate sorrows tucked away
under tear-stained pillows;

girl becomes rose
through the sight of soft curls,
glitter lips and shoulders of silk
surrounded by a halo
of gossamer dreams
and the bright possibility
of future days without
the fear of naked winters.

girl becomes rose
with the lush scent
of a beauty that could never vanish
as long as the heart blooms with it.

one day,
very soon…
you'll look into the mirror
and you'll see a rose,
and you'll remember
how it used to be a girl

girl became rose

♥ Secret Ceremony (Losey, 1968) ♥

Darling Mia Farrow looking deliciously demented and the lady I despise the most in american cinema, Elizabeth Taylor (Don't ask me why, I just can't stand her acting..she's so over the top).
I love this movie too much, the crazy Art-Noveau house, the complicated plot, Mia's wig, the madness, the stepfather. It's wonderfully sad and funny all at the same time.
